If you’re looking for a half marathon or 5K run to train for, one of the coolest races you will be able to find in Florida is the Florida West Coast half marathon and 5K in Sarasota. Sarasota has so many activities to choose from so it is also a great place to plan a vacation.

The Florida West Coast half marathon and 5K is one of the most talked about events in all of Florida. Runners absolutely love the finish line. It is an experience like nothing else. The “Floating Final Mile” is something that you are just not able to experience anywhere else.

The entire last mile of both the half marathon and 5K run finish on what is called a wave attenuator. The wave attenuator is a solid path that goes directly across the lake at Nathan Benderson park.
